I lift weights all the time and can’t stand having a strap around my bicep or waist. The lanyard lets the IPod hang comfortably around your neck without cords getting in the way. The sound is the same as the earbuds it comes with. I find this lanyard very convenient. I’ve been using it for 5+ years – I’m on my third pair. After pulling the lanyard on and off many times, the wiring becomes loose and you will lose sound in one bud, play around with the wires, duct tape it together to make it work, and finally give in and buy a new one. I figure I wear it 3-5 times per week over 5+ years – that’s pretty good use with a lot of wear and tear. I don’t recommend running with it for 2 reasons: 1) your IPod will just fall off (it’s not strong enough to sustain the bouncing) and 2) the IPod ends up sliding all over your chest and getting caught under your armpit etc. I used to use electrical tape and tape the lanyard on when running to make sure it stayed on – I don’t recommend that method I haven’t seen a more convenient way to carry your IPod and lift weights. I can’t figure out how those bubbas walk around with an IPhone strapped to their arm at the gym. Good luck!

I just purchased my second. Leaves your hands free during workout and the music plays!!!! So much better than armbands that don’t stay on well during sweaty workouts at the gym.

I only used this product for 3 months and the sound wires came loose somehow inside the dongle and started sounded like the music was playing in a tin can. Crap!

Ok it is not worth $40.00 but it does work great. It holds on to the iPOD great and i never get tangled ear buds. If you use the nano while traveling this is the product for you. If it were $30.00 I would have given it a 5 stars but on the otherhand they would have lost $10 on me….

A friend of mine has this laynard but with earbuds instead of the L shaped earphones. I didn’t know the earbud type existed or I would have bought those instead.

I purchased this cover for my husbands IPod Nano. He works construction and needed to protect his IPod from his job. The color is the same as it looks online a very nice blue. The openings aline perfectly with the screen, camera, hold switch and dial. The slots on the back work with an armband. He is very happy with this product.

These do work with the IPod Nano 4th generation, but not fully. You cannot switch songs or adjust the volume with them. If you adjust the maximum volume on your computer when you sync it, and are willing to take all of the songs you load onto it without skipping, they’re functional.

Pros:

-Sleeker, slimmer design.

-Return of the taller (better) body.

-Still easy to use, as ever.

Cons:

-STILL no support of FLAC and other superior formats.

-STILL no FM radio.

-STILL no Bluetooth/WiFi, etc.

-STILL some of the sh***iest audio quality among PMPs (I’m talking just plain abysmal).

-STILL not enough flash memory, especially given the premium price.

Final judgment:

If, like my old lady, you like what iPods have done right and can live with what they do oh-so-wrong, then you’ll love the newest addition to the line. If, on the other hand, you’re like me and can’t live without your Cowon PMP – if substance, compatibility and audio quality are more important than style and ease of navigation – then you might want to go an Apple-free route.

this is the worst nano yet. its soo ugly, it has horrible audio quality even with better speakers. it also always freezes up. there is distortion when used. it is annoying!
